How do I configure CuteFTP to upload my files to my site?
Follow the instructions below to correctly configure CuteFTP. • • • Step 1: After launching CuteFTP, select “OTHER” as indicated below when asked to choose your ISP. • Step 2: Enter any label you wish to identify this site. This can be anything you want and has no effect on the connection to • your site. • • • Step 3: Enter the IP address of your site. This can be found in the welcome letter that you received immediately after signing up with UpTown. • Step 4: Enter the username and password that is contained in your welcome letter. These are case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as seen in the email. • Step 5: At this point, you are specifying what directory you want to upload from. This is the location on your computer that your web files are located. • Step 6: At this screen, check the box below if you wish to automatically connect to your site when CuteFTP is launched. • Step 7: When you see a popup window similar to this one, you have successfully connected.
