How do I compose messages in HTML as opposed to plain text?

In the composition window click the Options tab, and change the option from Format As Plain Text to Format As HTML. If you want to make this change permanent go to Preferences menu item and click Composing from the sub-menu. Change the option from As Text to As HTML.
