Note: The Sales Order is the only form in the Sales System that will deplete inventory for items sold. Neither the Quotation nor Invoice will deplete inventory. This requires Perpetual Inventory to be turned on in Company Setup. Inventory is depleted based on the Quantity Shipped, not the Quantity Sold. You can use the Sales Order to create backorders for out of stock items. The Sales Order allows you to select which item you want to sell, from items that are multi-warehouse, style/color, serialized, or multi-price items. You can use the Duplicate Sales Order feature to create new Sales Orders by duplicating existing sales orders. Use the Batch Create Invoices function to easily create Invoices from Sales Orders. The following steps are for completing a “Product Detail” sales order form.
