Follow these steps: 1) Unplug the unit from the wall. 2) Open the cover and remove the thermal paper from the unit and close the cover. 3) Hold down the start and stop keys at the same time and then plug the unit back. Release the start and stop keys and the display should read “OUT OF PAPER”. 4) Open the cover and reinsert the thermal paper roll and then close cover. The display should return to the date and time.
