How do I cleanup or clear my auto-fill (nickname) file that MS Outlook 2003 uses for addressing email recipients?
Note: The steps below assume that you have MS Office 2003 installed and configured for you local profile. Steps may be different if you are using MS Outlook 2007. To do cleanup a single address entry in the auto fill or nickname file, follow these steps: • While in an email message, in the To… field start to type the recipient that you want to remove. As you type the first few letters the auto fill menu will appear and show you matching selections. Type the recipient until they are the only listed. • Once the entry you want to remove is highlighted, but not yet selected for the To… field press the delete key. This will delete that single entry from the auto fill and nickname file. • To test if the entry has been removed, repeat step 1 to see if the recipient is still present in the auto fill menu. To do clear all address entries in the auto fill or nickname file, follow these steps: • Close out of MS Outlook 2003. • Open a Window Explorer window (such as My Computer).
