How do I clean the inside of my cats ears out?
The cats have ear mites, it sounds like. Their ears become deformed because they injure them from scratching…ear mites cause intense itching. They can scratch their ears so hard that big hematomas form, and they have to be surgically drained by a vet. If they rupture or are scratched open, they can bleed heavily. There are no effective home remedies or cheap medicines from pet stores. Most of them do more harm than good. Proper ear mite medicine (Mometamax) from a vet is not expensive. The vet would not have to examine every cat — if one has ear mites, chances are they all do — and since it sounds like he has treated them for ear mites before, he may not have to examine any of them. You may be able to just buy the medicine from him. Where I work enough to treat a cat for six months costs about $25.
