How do I clean my Kenmore self cleaning oven?
Keep in mind that if you start the self-cleaning cycle on your oven that the oven will get extremely hot (mine goes to about 800 degrees) and stays hot like that for about 3 hours or so. Make sure you do this on a day when you can have the windows open…sometimes the burnt up food can create many fumes! I’ve also heard tales that the fumes created from a self-cleaning oven can kill pet birds, so be aware of that too. I have a self-cleaning oven….I hate running the oven cycle, so I use Easy-Off Fume-Free Maxx (its safe for self-cleaning ovens) and that does a pretty good job of cleaning the oven…without the heat and all the horrible fumes!
