Use a Mild DetergentAllow the aluminum windows to cool before attempting to clean them. Mix 1 tsp. of mild dishwashing detergent with water to clean aluminum windows that are painted or are clear or colored and anodized. Use a sponge or rag to clean the windows thoroughly, and rinse the mixture off using clean water. Pat the window dry using a clean cloth when finished. Use the mild detergent and water mix to clean new aluminum windows. Use a mild abrasive for aluminum windows that contain heavy exposure or buildup. Remove the cleaner with clear water to avoid damaging the windows permanently. Clean the glass using 1/2 cup of vinegar, 1 gallon of water and a clean rag.
