How do I choose the right Pellet for my air rifle or pellet pistol?
There are several different airgun pellet styles available to use with your air gun and each rifle is unique in that every one has an “ideal pellet” for accuracy and/or speed. Your desired result will dictate what kind of air gun pellet you’ll want to use. If your emphasis is on accuracy, then a pellet sampler pack might be the best thing to get, in order to increase the odds that you fill find one that is right for your shooting style. If velocity is your main concern, then a non-lead, lightweight “hyper velocity” pellet is what you would need to look for. For an inexpensive and accurate practice pellet, a “hobby” pellet might be the best pellet to choose. If you are needing a pellet to hunt with, an English bulldog pellet, such as the RWS Superdome, are the type that you would want to look at, unless you were needing it for pest control, in which case a hollow point pellet might be the answer. If penetrating power is what you need, then a pointed pellet is the answer.
