How do I choose the right filter and a suitable pump?
A rule of thumb is that the combination of filter and pump must be able to treat the total volume of pond water in 4 to 5 hours. Ubbink Garden supplies ready-to-use sets, either as a bank side filter or an underwater filter. You can choose for the Basic set (supplied including the pump) or the Plus set (including pump and UV lamp). Another determining factor in your choice of filter set and pump is whether you have fish or plants in your pond, and if so, what types of plants. Your Ubbink dealer will be happy to give you further advice. 6. Is an UV device damaging to fish and plants? An UV device, which in principle you only use in combination with a biological/mechanical filter, is absolutely harmless. The ultraviolet light kills only algae and therefore produces clean and clear water. 7. What does zeolite do?
