How do I choose an input electrolytic capacitor (input E-cap)?
SynQor has written an application note on how to select an input electrolytic capacitor and why this capacitor is needed. The paper can be downloaded from the Application Notes page of our website. In general you will find that each converter will require a capacitor that is approximately 47uF to 100uF with a minimum voltage rating of 100VDC, and an ESR in the range of 0.5 to 1 Ohm.
