How do I choose a Real Estate agent?
We knew 5 years ago that we would be selling our home and retiring out of state in 2008. Several years ago we began noticing the same agent’s name listed on many of the local for sale signs …we also attended open houses in our neighborhood almost every weekend. On Saturday and Sundays, we often ran across the same nicely dressed agent conducting open houses – we found out he was the same realtor whose signs were plastered all over the neighborhood and who also seemed to sell his listings in a timely manner – it was obvious he was hardworking…later we learned he was the top selling agent in our whole area…..a few years later when we decided to retire, that hardworking realtor is the one we chose to sell our house. As expected, he was a marvelous realtor….we sold our home in 3 1/2 weeks in a very slow market. When our house was sold, our agent had 9 homes in escrow….going to open houses is a great way to meat a good agent.
