How do I choose a ketubah?
Decide on the text you want for your ketubah. In most cases, an orthodox ceremony will require the traditional Aramaic text; a conservative ceremony will require the Lieberman clause; and a reform ceremony will use an egalitarian text. Other texts such as interfaith and gender neutral are sometimes available. In most cases the English text does not translate the Hebrew text. It is always best to check with your rabbi or officiant before ordering the ketubah. Decide on the ketubah you want and be sure the text is available. You may use our search tool to find available texts. If it is not, there is always the option of ordering a blank ketubah and having the text calligraphied by the artist although this adds between $100-400 to the price. Remember also that most artists can do an original ketubah for you but this takes several months.
