How do I change to or from the Windows XP default Start menu?
• Open Control Panel. • From the Microsoft® Windows® XP default Start menu, click Control Panel. • From the Windows XP classic Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. • In Control Panel, open Taskbar and Start Menu. • If the computer is in Category View, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Taskbar and Start Menu. • If the computer is in Classic View, double-click the Taskbar and Start Menu icon. • In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, click the Start Menu tab. • To change the Windows XP default Start menu to the classic Start menu, click Classic Start menu, and then click OK. Note: Some icons like My Computer and My Documents are placed on the desktop following this procedure. • To change the classic Start menu to the Windows XP default Start menu, click Start menu, and then click OK. Note: Some icons like My Computer and My Documents are removed from the desktop following this procedure. • In Control Panel, from the File menu, click Close.
