How do I change the video refresh rate in Windows 98/98SE?
Go to Control Panel / Display and click on the Settings tab at the top. Click on the “Advanced…” button at the bottom. Click on the “SIS Display Modes” tab at the top. Use the dropmenu on the “Refresh rate” box to change your refresh rate. Setting the refresh rate to a rate higher than your monitor can handle will result in a scrambled display! If you’re not sure, set it to 60Hz or 70Hz max.
