How do I change the red paint to a different shade?
Sorry, but I think you will be frustrated trying to do that, mainly because the colors you describe aren’t really “red”. Both maroon and rust colors have a lot of black, plus other colors (blue, brown etc) not related to red in them. Adding white, or any other color would be a waste of paint, because you would never be able to get that clean, bright red color that you’re looking for. What you would end up with is “mud” I’m sorry to say that if your heart is set on fire engine red, you will have to buy it that color.
