How do I change the password for the customer interface in the Wireless Cable Modem?

You can access your current modem configuration through a web browser (i.e. Netscape or Internet Explorer). To access this page, open your web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. When the page loads, click on “Login” on the left. You will now be prompted to enter a “User name” and “Password.” By default, both of these will be “user” in all lower case letters (without the quotation marks). On the next page, click on the “TOOLS” link at the top. Next, click on “Passwords.” In the top box labeled “Password,” you can now enter the new password you would like to use for accessing the router configuration. In the second box you will be asked to retype your new password for verification. Click on “Apply” and your password will now be changed. The next time you go to log in to the modem, the “User name” will still be “user” in all lower case letters (without the quotation marks). Your “Password” will now be the password that you had just entered.
