How do I change the MIDI voice played for a particular instrument?
Inside PhotoScore’s ‘Resources’ folder on the hard disk there is a plain text file called ‘General MIDI.txt’. It contains a list of MIDI voices (from 1 to 128) followed by comma separated strings of instrument names in quotation marks. Adding a new instrument name to a MIDI voice (or moving one from another voice) causes that voice to be played for that instrument when it is assigned to a staff in PhotoScore. It is also possible to add transposition to an instrument by appending say :+12 or :-12 after the quotation mark (in this case for up and down an octave as the number is in semitones).
