Begin by firmly pressing the spool cover tabs on either side of the Bump and Feed housing. This will allow you to remove the spool cover, spring, and spool from the housing (#1a). Cut 2 pieces of trimmer line (.095 or .105) 12 feet long, fold the line in half, and push the 2 ends of the line through the two holes in the spool and pull through evenly. Push the loop of the line into the slot in the line divider. Wind the line evenly onto the spool in the direction of the arrows on the spool based upon the rotation direction of your trimmer shaft. See (#2a) and (#2b) below. Then place each end of the line into the holding slots on the spool that match the size of your line (.095 or .105), and feed the line through the brass eyelets on the spool cover, and seat the spool into the cover. Make sure that the spring is seated into the Bump and Feed housing, then replace the spool (#3b) cover with spool attached into the housing.
