How Do I Change the Headlight Motor in a C4 Corvette?
Remove the Headlight AssemblyOpen the engine compartment of your C4 Corvette. Remove the six bolts that secure the headlamp assembly to the vehicle (pop-up headlight and motor), using a wrench. Keep the bolts separated so that reassembly is easier. Unplug the electrical cable, and remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle. Place the assembly on your workbench.Remove the MotorRemove the bolts that connect the old motor to the light assembly, using a Phillips screwdriver. Note that you can purchase a headlight repair kit that includes specialized bushings and gears to fix the damaged parts in your headlight motor instead of purchasing a new motor.
