How Do I Change the Distributor and Rotor Button on a 1996 Honda Civic?

0

The 1996 1.6-liter 4-cylinder Honda Civic operates with a distributed ignition. A distributor cap and rotor allow an electrical current to be transferred, in sequence, to the four cylinders. Inside the distributor cap, a rotor spins and makes contact, in sequence, with four terminals. On the outside of the cap, each of the four spark plug wires is connected to a terminal. During use, due to heat and friction, the rotor terminals eventually degrade. Poor connections result in nondelivery or insufficient delivery of electrical current to the spark plugs. Periodic replacement of the distributor cap and rotor is recommended.
