The solution is different between MediaWiki versions. • For MediaWiki 1.9 or newer, use MediaWiki:sidebar • For MediaWiki 1.5 or newer, see Help:Navigation bar. • For MediaWiki 1.3/1.4, see Customization:Quickbar. If the page doesn’t change in the desired way after applying the changes, just point your browser to ”http://yoursite.tld/index.php/MainPage&action=purge”. Notice the “action=purge”-Part which clears the webpage cache.
