How Do I Change The Chart Sizing Measurement From Cms To Inches?

I want to re-size a chart from cms to inches, using the Chart Tools – Format – Size, but each time I type inches in the boxes it just reverts to cms. Any suggestions, I have tried looking in the excel options for a default but can’t see an option.
