How do I change port number for outgoing mail (SMTP) in my e-mail application?
Some internet service providers have started blocking external mailservers on port 25, in order to reduce spam sent from their customers. This means that customers who use smtp.domeneshop.no as their outgoing mailserver (SMTP-server) in their e-mail application should change the port number used to send mail from port 25 to port 587. Outlook Express: 1. Click on “Tools” -> “Accounts” 2. Click on the pane “Mail” og select the e-mail account you want to change outgoing port for, then click on “Properties”. 3. When you see the properties for the account, click on “Advanced” and change the Server Port value for outgoinmg mail (SMTP) from 25 to 587 and click on “Apply”.
