How do I change oil in a 1984 Ford Ranger?
Remove the Dirty OilInsert an oil receptacle (to catch the old oil) beneath the Ranger’s oil pan (located beneath the engine); remove the affixed oil drain-plug from the oil pan, allowing the dirty oil to drain from the engine.Screw in the Oil Drain-PlugReplace the old oil drain-plug gasket (a washer-like pad located on the oil drain-plug) with a new one; place the oil drain-plug back onto the oil pan and tighten it firmly.Refill the Ranger’s Engine with OilRemove the oil fill cap (located on the top of the engine, toward the front of the vehicle) and fill the Ford Ranger with 4.1 quarts of SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil.
