How do I Change Chevy Truck Automatic Transmission Fluid?
Changing the automatic transmission fluid on Chevy trucks usually requires removing the fluid pan from the transmission. Most vehicles do not have a fluid drain plug for changing transmission fluid. The pan must then be reinstalled with a new gasket or sealant prior to filling the transmission. Care must be taken not to over-fill the transmission. Too much fluid can become frothy, causing damage to an automatic transmission. Basic home mechanic’s tools are needed to perform the job.
