CareProvide enough water for the lily of the valley to keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Lily of the valley likes full or partial shade but can also grow in areas that receive some direct morning sun. Spread about an inch of organic mulch (wood chips or compost) around the base of the plant starting 1/2 to 1 inch from the base and spreading out to the leaves’ drip line.
