How do I care for Ficas Nitida trees which have had freeze damage?
First thing you want to do is wait until your area is totally out of the cold season… you don’t want your hard work being undone by another unexpected spring freeze! Once things have warmed up, prune any damaged limbs/branches (as they will likely just die off anyway). Don’t be surprised if you see some new growth that dies off shortly afterward; this is normal with freeze damage. Just clip any obviously damaged limbs; the ones that are less damaged can be left alone and monitored. Good luck to you! Sources: This is my opinion.
