The calculations for Income and rent are determined differently. Income is based on the total number of persons residing in a Housing Unit and rent is calculated based on the number of bedrooms in a Housing Unit regardless of the number of people living in the Housing Unit. In determining the maximum Income for a household, you identify the maximum Income related to the actual number of persons in the household for the applicable Area Median Gross Income (60%, 50%, 45%, etc.) which you selected. In determining the maximum rent, you identify the maximum Gross Rent related to the number of bedrooms in a unit for the applicable Area Median Gross Income (60%, 50%, 45%, etc.) which you selected, rather than the actual number of people residing in the unit.
