How do I calculate how much fireglass I need for my fire pit?
There are 2 ways. Both are simple and will require a tape measure. The first method is by using our wizard – Click here to go to Glass Calculator The second method requires a calculator, pen and paper. Follow the steps below: Step 1: Measure (in inches) the diameter of your fire pit and take note of the measurement. Step 2: If you want the glass to be flush with the top of the fire pit, measure the depth in inches of the fire pit and take note of that dimension. If you would like the glass to be raised add between 2 and 4 inches to the depth and take note of that dimension. Step 3: Use the calculator to multiply the diameter (inches) by the diameter (inches) Step 4: Multiply the total by the depth measured in Step 2. Step 5: Divide total by 24 This number represents how many pounds of fireglass you will need for your fireplace. You can use approximately 50% Clear fireglass as a base and the remaining 50% in the Colored fireglass that you prefer. This is the most cost-efficient approach
