How do I calculate Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) for a position?

0

This section pertains to FTE’s (Full Time Equivalent is a unit of measure for all persons working in the library for forty hours per week). If your library were only open 30 hours per week, this would only be three-quarters of an FTE or .75. To arrive at the FTE count, take the number of hours worked per week and divide that number by 40. If there were four employees that work only 20 hours per week each, the number of FTE’s would be 2. Only count paid employees. See FTE spreadsheet for a spreadsheet to calculate FTEs. Do not use for seasonal employees. Use FTE-Seasonal spreadsheet.
