How do I bypass the heater core on a 1994 Chevy Blazer S-10 4.3?
I am assuming that you need to do this either because the heater core is leaking or that the heater control is stuck in the “on” position making it very unbearable to drive. Either way its a very simple thing to do- In addition to the 2 big radiator hoses there are also 2 smaller heater hoses. The heater hoses are connected to the intake manifold and water pump and run all the way to the fire-wall on the passenger side. At that point if the hose clamps are accessible from under the hood, simply loosen them and disconnect the hoses and get a plastic hose connector or hose coupler to connect the two hoses together. If the clamps are not accessible, just cut the hoses at the point of entry and connect them together. The hose connector itself will probably need to be 5/8″ or 3/4″ in diameter depending on the size of the heater hose. A hose repair kit found at most auto parts stores has a variety of sizes and clamps. Normally coolant flows from the engine through one heater hose and runs ba
