How do I build the best trebuchet?
This actually sounds like a fun project. The best way to go depends on the rules. If you’re allowed to use a modern type of trebuchet a King Arthur is hard to beat. With the same arm and counterweight it will throw about twice the distance of a traditional type. In this design the arm and counterweight holder are locked in a straight line and when the machine is ****** the arm is pointed nearly straight down and the CW is way up in the air. The arm tip is also locked, keeping everything immobile. To fire, the CW is released and falls forward while the arm remains locked temporarily. After the CW holder passes horizontal a second trigger releases the arm, which then swings around much like a regular trebuchet, only much faster. You can research King Arthur trebuchets for more details. I don’t know what you’ll be throwing, but a good KA with 80 lbs CW and an 8 foot arm could throw a baseball nearly 600 feet. This would take a lot of tuning, but isn’t at all impossible. If you need to mak
