Drill plenty of holes (at least 10) into the lid of the bin or garbage can. Place a layer of shredded paper in the bottom of the bin then add a layer of “greens” such as vegetables, fruits, coffee grinds and eggshells. Chop everything so that it will break down quickly. Top the greens with another layer of paper and cover the bin.
