Play structures are ideal for the family with young children. When the budget does not allow for the ones you want your children to have, build your own play structure. With a few sheets of plywood and some indoor/outdoor carpet, you can build a structure your children will love to play on for hours. To help keep expense to a minimum, keep play areas to 36-inches. Anything over that requires 2 by 4 frames to keep it safe. Build a rectangle by securing the 12 by 34 1/2-inch plywood between the 12 by 36-inch plywood. Secure the two 36-inch square pieces on the top and bottom of the rectangle with the 1 1/4-inch drywall screws. Cut carpet to fit three of the sides and the top of the rectangle.
