How do I build a model windmill that generates electricity?

I don’t know much about model making, but I know that it would be a lot easier to light up an LED than to light up a common flashlight bulb. The LED requires less energy, and you don’t have much to work with from a turbine that small. If I were given your assignment, I probably would run out and buy one of those hand-cranked flashlights—the smallest one I could find. I would remove the generator and the electronics from it, and then I would start thinking about how I might get a turbine to directly drive the generator shaft.
