How Do I Block Pop-Up Websites on Yahoo and Internet Explorer?
Pop-ups are everywhere on the Internet. Even sites that you visit frequently, like Yahoo, may have some annoying pop-ups. Internet Explorer includes a pop-up blocker in the browser program. You can turn it off, or you can choose a level of pop-up protection. Most pop-ups are blocked with the “Medium” setting, but if you are really having a hard time, try the “High” setting. Open Internet Explorer. A link for the browser should be on the desktop or within the “Start” menu. You should have the most recent update of Internet Explorer, as well. Click on “Tools” on the toolbar. Point the mouse pointer at “Pop-up Blocker.” Choose “Pop-up Blocker Settings” from the menu that appears. Click the arrow under “Blocking level” to bring up a menu. Choose “Medium: Block most automatic pop-ups” or “High: Block all pop-ups.” It depends on how high of a security level you wish to have. Open the Yahoo website. Any pop-ups should be blocked.
