How do I block Immunodyne ABC membrane?
The best method for blocking membranes is 0.5% Hammersten grade casein (BDH 44020 or equivalent) diluted in buffer. Add casein to the buffer and heat on a stir plate to 80 °C or until dissolved; do not boil the solution. Cool to 25 – 40 °C before use. Soak membranes in this solution at room temperature for 30 minutes. Non-fat dry milk can be substituted for the casein, but concentrations may have to be adjusted.
