How do I best describe the Reading Cert. Program at SFSU to potential employers or in an interview?
• Where can I find practical experience teaching reading? If you already have a background in reading theory and pedagogy, many community colleges hire part-time faculty to teach classes. If you have coursework from SFSU in teaching composition, as well as coursework in postsecondary reading, and you take the SFSU graduate teaching exam, positions may be available through the SFSU Composition and Postsecondary Reading Program. Also, read our response to question 7. • Is it possible to set up mini follow-up workshops? I am not certain what the context for this question is. However, it is always possible to design and implement mini-workshops on topics and issues related to postsecondary reading pedagory and practice. Contact any postsecondary reading instructor (See “Faculty” page).
