How do I become certified in a designated trade in which no training is offered by the province of PEI?
To become certified as a journeyperson in a designated occupation where training is not available in PEI, an individual must first obtain an established number of hours of industry experience in that occupation. Upon completion of the established number of hours, individuals are required to complete an application to challenge the Interprovincial Exam in their trade submit it to the Apprenticeship Section for verification and approval. If approved, the individual will be given the opportunity to challenge a certification examination for the designated occupation.
