How do I become an Authorized Inspector at a Designated Inspection facility or Preventative Maintenance Program Facility?
You must successfully complete the Authorized Inspector’s course at a college or training facility offering the Authorized Inspector’s course, and you must be a journey mechanic holding a valid Certificate of Trade Qualification issued by the BC Industry Training Centre or have an equivalent Inter-provincial Red-Seal Certificate recognized in Canada in at least one of the following trades: Automotive Service Technician • Commercial Transport Mechanic • Heavy Duty Mechanic • Trailer Mechanic • Motorcycle Repair For more information see our Vehicle and Standards page/How to Become a Authorized Inspector
