Yes, Ryu is a Shotokan Fighter, as Akuma, Ken, Dan and Sean (the difference between the others is that Akuma have trained in the “dark side” of this martial art, Ken use it adding some moves from Tae Kwon Do, Dan add moves from Muai Thai and Sean from Jujitsu) If you want to be like him, I think you should start training as soon as possibile; he is an unilateral character, that means that he have trained since 6 years old (and if he existited, he ‘ll be doing it even right now somewhere XD) The Hadou-Ken is absolutely impossibile, as any “distance” power shown in fake martial arts show: the chi, the internal energy is bio-electromagnetism, to create a distance projectile means that the difference of potential beetween the bodies of the two pratictioners is so high to generate some sort of a thunder.
