How do I become a Professor in Religion??
Your first step would be to work toward a bachelor’s degree with a major in Religion, Religious Studies, or Comparative Religion. Not all public universities have departments of religion, but most good liberal arts colleges and private universities do. You will have to find a college with this major. Keep in mind that religious schools with majors in theology are not suitable. (Some great undergraduate programs in religion can be found at all Ivy League schools, and at the top 30 liberal arts colleges as ranked by US News and World Report. Public universities with good religion programs include the public universities listed below with good MA or PhD programs.) After you receive your bachelor’s degree (well, actually in your senior year), you will have to apply to MA or PhD programs in Religion. PhD programs award the MPhil after coursework and comprehensive exams are finished, so you will not need the MA first, if you are immediately accepted into a PhD program. Top MA programs: Unive
