How do I Become a Locksmith?
Like many of you I spent a lot of time and effort looking for my “ideal business”. I looked into buying a locksmith franchise but with all the ongoing commissions and obligations to the franchiser it sounded just like a job but with more risk! It was also very expensive and I had difficulty in justifying the £15,000 – £25,000 initial outlay. The van, tools and marketing they provided just didn’t add up to those amounts. I approached local locksmiths to see if they would train me and I’d help out for a commission when they were too busy. But they knew I’d just set up my own business in competition as soon as they’d taught me the skills.
