How Do I Become A Licensed Real Estate Salesperson Or Broker In New York State?
To be a licensed real estate salesperson, you must complete a 45hour salesperson qualifying education course in real estate as approved by the Secretary of State and pass the Department of State’s qualifying exam. For a broker’s license, you must have at least one year of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson or at least two years of experience in the general real estate field, demonstrate completion of the 45hour salespersons course and the additional 45hour Secretary of Stateapproved broker course, and have passed the Department’s qualifying exam.
