A certified public accountant, or CPA, is a licensed, state-certified accountant. The CPA program requires a combination of education, experience and the successful completion of CPA courses and exams. The CPA designation is an accounting license issued by the state in which the license requested. The details of these requirements vary according to the state in which you apply for your CPA license, but the main requirements are the same across the country. The minimum education requirement to become a CPA is a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized, accredited university. The actual number of seminar hours required varies by state, with 150 seminar hours of accounting courses as the standard. Each state has slightly different rules surrounding the qualifications required to become a CPA and sit for the exam, but the exam is identical is all states. The exam can only be taken within the USA, and is offered several times a year. In order to qualify to take this exam, you must s

In the State of Texas, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) administers the rules and regulations governing certified public accountants. Yeah, getting a CPA liscense varies from state to state, but generally you need to have 24 credit hours in accounting (There are specific areas you need to study like auditing, financial accounting, and tax accounting) and another 24 credit hours in general business subjects. You will probably also have to take another year of classes beyond your Bachelor’s because to get the lisence because 150 credits is required. Also, I think you need to find a CPA to work under for a year or two years, part time. This can be difficult. You need to do actual CPA type work, so you can’t just be a clerk or secretary for a CPA. I don’t really know about the CFO part. Good luck!

CPAWhat do these three letters mean to the professional world? They mean you have received a broad-based education. They mean you have passed all parts of a very difficult exam. They mean you have the knowledge, skills and abilities to be a trusted business advisor to your clients or employer. They mean you feel comfortable with the latest technology. They mean you are an ethical individual who can provide an independent viewpoint. Preparing for the Exam To become a CPA in Tennessee, candidates must obtain a baccalaureate degree including 150 semester hours from an accredited college or university. This must include 24 semester hours in accounting and 24 semester hours in business courses. The candidate must then pass the Uniform CPA Examination, an ethics examination such as the exam given by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and complete one year of experience in accounting acceptable to the State Board of Accountancy. Check your state CPA society because states have different requirements for what you have to take to sit for the CPA exam. But an MBA and 24 accounting credits is probably enough or close to enough for most states. What you then want is an CPA review course, which should be easy enough to find (either a face-to-face course or something else, including self-study books).
