How do I become a Certified Pedorthist?
To become a Certified Pedorthist, you must have a high school diploma, GED or college degree, complete a three level pedorthic education course approved by the National Commission for Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE), complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of patient care experience in pedorthics and pass a certifying examination administered by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC) or the Board for Certification/Accreditation Intl. (BOC). Both ABC and BOC are independent certification boards that set standards for the profession and administer certification examinations.
