How do i become a better runner, without running outside?
When I first read this question, I thought that there was nothing that could be done. To get better at running endurance, you simply have to run outside. Running on the treadmill is nothing like running outside. But then I read further, and saw that you wanted to improve your speed for a sport: tennis. This is good news! Not only do you not need to run outside, I wouldn’t even recommend it! Basically, tennis can be broken down into two types of athletic conditioning: one, the sport-specific endurance for having to play multiple games per set and multiple sets, and two, the all-out speed accompanied by a quick reaction time. What do I mean by that? Well, you need to judge where the ball is coming, get to that spot, have enough time to prepare your tennis racket, choose where you want to hit the ball to, and go through the proper motion to get that ball where you want it!
