How do I backup my website in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel* In the 2nd row, 4th to the right you will see an icon labeled as Backup. Click on it. On this page you will see several links and 3 boxes. The link you want to click on is Generate/Download a Full Backup. This will take you to a new page. Now, in this page you will see several boxes marked as: Backup Destination: Email Address: Remote Server (ftp/scp only): Remote User (ftp/scp only): Remote Password (ftp/scp only): The backup destination is where the backup file will be sent. You may choose from: Home Directory, Remote FTP Server, Remote FTP Server (passive mode transfer). If you choose to upload the backup to a remote FTP server and the FTP on that server is behind a firewall then you want to choose the 3rd option. Email Address is the email address where the results of the backup will be sent to as well as a link to download it. Remote Server is the server where the backup will be loaded to.
