You can designate a port for monitoring traffic on any one of the other ports on the switch. This is accomplished by copying all traffic from the specified port to the designated monitoring port. This feature is also referred to as “mirroring”. How to configure the Switch for Monitoring: • From the Main Menu, select Configuration Menu. • From the Configuration Menu, select Network Monitoring Port. • In the Actions menu, press “E” (for Edit). • If monitoring is currently disabled (the default) then enable it by pressing the spacebar (or “Y”) to select “Yes”. • Press “Down Arrow” to move cursor to the Monitoring Port prompt. • Press the spacebar or type the port number to select the port to use for the monitoring port. Attach the analyzer to this port. • Press “Down Arrow” to move to the “Monitored Port” field and press the spacebar or type the port number to select the port you want to monitor. • Return to the Main Menu to select other function.
